@Skip

Well, I dropped the ball.

As I recall, this was one of my foray posts with PayPerPost and I ended up not digging deeper following this write-up. That said, I should mention for all the PPP haters out there that I have been very exclusive in what I wrote about via that system. To prove it I let this blog stagnate for months.

The trouble here is that I am not the decision maker for the company I work for and barely able to provide any influence despite my "years and years" of experience. Additionally, I don't really have any personal reporting needs for me to exercise the tool.

That said, I think I will try to dig into this again--see what I can find. I may have more time this time.

Thanks for the post Douglas. We are certainly trying to build something different from the typical social bookmarking product. We let users connect pages and publish ideas anywhere on the web. Instead of a read-only medium anyone can now turn the web into what they want it to be. Your lesson illustration is great. Teachers (lessons and syllabi), writers (quotes and bibliographies), and bloggers (trackbacks and links) have been doing this sort of thing for a long time. It is their job to put together ideas that others have not. Now anyone can do this anywhere on the web.

Thanks for the ideas too. We are madly working on most of the features you mentioned above. The first release of any product is a guess at what users want. From then on we solicit and listen to your feedback.

The other thing that occured to me was that with the ability to embed some HTML into your comments, you might be able to link to an online survey tool. Students could rate the page or take a quiz or something along those lines.

Deanna,

Thanks for the 'thanks' and for stopping by my sad little blog. It get's lonely over here.

Sorry the nature of the compliments were half unprofessional. Not sure if it was on your end or Bloglines, but during the writing of this, your post with pictures of you at that Con kept refreshing in my reader. Eventaully I gave in and accepted the fact that you're hot.

It's exciting to me what your role is with words. I am lucky if I can implement the rudimentary and not terribly accurate: "put a comma where you might pause in conversation" rule. Let alone identify more complex issues.

Writing code for a living gives me an entirely different perspective on words and grammar.

Hoak, one syllable or two?
