{"id":97,"date":"2006-07-18T10:51:17","date_gmt":"2006-07-18T17:51:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.douglasblaine.com\/index.php\/2006\/07\/18\/izenda-agile-reporting\/"},"modified":"2006-07-18T12:11:47","modified_gmt":"2006-07-18T19:11:47","slug":"izenda-agile-reporting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.douglasblaine.com\/index.php\/20060718\/izenda-agile-reporting\/","title":{"rendered":"Izenda: Agile Reporting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been doing reporting for <strong>many many years<\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a niche skill I picked up back when the IT world would hire anyone with a heartbeat.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a skill I have taught to many others in the time since.\u00c2\u00a0 I just came across <a href=\"http:\/\/www.izenda.com\/Site\/AdHocMain.aspx\">Izenda<\/a> (EYE-zenda) earlier today.<\/p>\n<p>There is cool stuff in here that I wouldn&#8217;t have expected to see in such nicely priced reporting tool&#8211;from free to just under $10k.\u00c2\u00a0 Surprisingly from the comparison chart not a huge differences in features between the high and low end.\u00c2\u00a0 Mostly the more expensive version was for unlimited users and all the bells and whistles.<\/p>\n<p>Most of you&#8217;ll want to dive right into the sign-up free demo of the product, but I watched the short video before getting my feet wet.<\/p>\n<p>Izenda Ad Hoc will do all the things you&#8217;d expect of a reporting tool: add and join your tables for you, allow you to add fields, sort and group those fields, filter out unneeded data, and create charts.\u00c2\u00a0 But where it exceeds other tools I have used is in it&#8217;s array of filtering logic available data and\u00c2\u00a0 you get an <strong>optional drop down<\/strong> of the values in the field you&#8217;d be filtering on.\u00c2\u00a0 Other tools I have seen you basically have to guess what might be in a field before hand.<\/p>\n<p>Did I mention <strong>it&#8217;s online<\/strong>!\u00c2\u00a0 The above would be cool if it was an installed client application, but on top of all that it&#8217;s online.\u00c2\u00a0 Tres Web 2.0.<\/p>\n<p>I am going to check out the 8 different export file types later on.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, maybe not all 8.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.counttrackula.com\/tracker\/image\/122\/129\" \/><small>Tags: <a rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/reporting\">reporting<\/a>, <a rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/izenda\">izenda<\/a>, <a rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/agile\">agile<\/a>, <a rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/business+intelligence\">business intelligence<\/a>, <a rel=\"tag\" href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/bi\">bi<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been doing reporting for many many years.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a niche skill I picked up back when the IT world would hire anyone with a heartbeat.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a skill I have taught to many others in the time since.\u00c2\u00a0 I just came across Izenda (EYE-zenda) earlier today.
